As magical as Disney World is, sometimes we experience some less-than-magical things, and one issue we have heard of in the past was other guests skipping the line.

We all know that the wait times for rides can get long, and it can be frustrating waiting in that line. But those wait times increase when guests skip or jump ahead in line. We asked our readers if this was still a problem that they experienced in the parks. And their thoughts likely resonate with a lot of Disney World guests.
To start, Disney World has a clear rule about guests jumping in line. Their policy states, “Please show common courtesy to fellow Guests and our Cast Members by not using profanity or engaging in unsafe, illegal, disruptive or offensive behavior, jumping lines or saving places in lines for others.” However, it appears that some guests are not following this policy.

One reader, Hunter W., shared, “When I was on my CP a couple of years ago, it was a major problem, but not just for lines for rides. Lines for shows as well.” Heather W. agreed, writing, “You should always enter a line together. If one has to use a restroom, then you wait and enter together.”

Two readers shared their very recent experiences with Michelle W, saying, “This week it was bad, and I said something every time. Especially early, one person runs to Slinky or Rise or SDMT (Seven Dwarf Mine Train) and holds a spot, then ten family members show up. So annoying”.

Nancy J wrote, “We had a large family last week that had one person wait in line while they all went to do other things. CM asked them how many in their party, and when she saw they weren’t all there, she told them they would have to step out and wait for their entire party… I’m fine with someone having to use the restroom etc, but not holding a spot in line for the rest of your family.” This is a good reminder that Cast Members might ask you to step aside until your party is fully together before going further in the queues.

We do want to mention that the “return to queue” process is in place for select guests. This is for people who may need to leave the queue for a bit to make it through the entire queue. If you need to do this, just ask a Cast Member at that attraction for the best process.
